June- Mon 28th- Paper Sculpture Sea Creatures
Kids choose a sea creature and look closely at all its parts. They work to sketch and plan their paper sculpture. They mould segments and join pieces and finally work in details to bring them to life.
June- Wed 30th- Paper Sculpture Insects, Plants or Fungi
Kids choose an insect, plant or fungi that inspires them. They work out the materials and colours they need to create their specimen. They work with different textured papers, glue and sometimes sew to layer their work and add detail.
July- Friday 2nd- Clay Candlesticks & Decorative Bowls
Kids work in both white and terracotta air dry clay to make two pieces for their home. They design their own work after looking at inspiration and discussing design elements. Their work can be quirky or more serious and stylish depending on what they feel like exploring.
July- Mon 5th– Clay Pot for House Plants
Kids work on a personal design. They can make a set, one large or even one small, detailed pot to house a favourite house plant. We will look at a variety of styles and clay methods to come up with their unique design.
July- Wed 7th– Felt Birds
Kids choose their favourite Australian bird to make. Children sketch their bird and break their plan into parts and colours. Working with felt which is easy to both cut and sew, children begin to piece together their own feathered friend which they can hang on their bedroom wall.
July- Fri 9th– Felt Plants
Kids choose their favourite house plant to replicate with felt. They will try and make it look as realistic as possible looking at details and layers. They work in wire to give it structure and life and place it in their own pot ready to take home.
$100 (bank transfer after booking).
Kids just need to wear old threads and bring their tucker.
All workshops are for primary aged kids.
